Upper New York’s Compelling Preaching Initiative is dedicated to embracing a powerful vision to revitalize preaching and nourish the spirits of pastors.
Supported by a generous $1.25 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., our mission is simple yet profound: to help preachers embody a healthy rhythm of rest, work, and play.
Through immersive experiences, curated workshops, and intentional spaces for reflection, we aim to renew, restore, and inspire pastors, equipping them to continue their ministry of preaching.
Our initiative recognizes the importance of balancing these aspects of life for your overall well-being. We are committed to supporting pastors in finding a healthy rhythm of rest, work and play.

Rev. Abigail Browka
Rev. Abigail Browka serves as an Associate Director of Missional Excellence with the United Methodists of Upper New York. Pastor Abigail lives in Central New York with her amazingly aware train loving son.

Pastor Rebekah Solar
Pastor Rebekah serves as an Associate Director of Missional Excellence with the United Methodists of Upper New York. Pastor Bekah lives along the St. Lawrence River with her spouse and three children. Her passions include coffee and creative expression.
